WHO, in collaboration with partners, organizes periodic UN Global Road Safety Weeks. The 7th UN Global Road Safety Week was organised from 15-21 May 2023 across the globe. The focus of the week was on #RethinkMobility in order to make walking, cycling, and public transport safe and convenient so that people can make the shift to active, sustainable mobility.
Consumer VOICE in collaboration with its state partners organised various events in this week
Consumer VOICE actively supported various social media activities such as twitter Storm, postings, Instagram live etc as a part of Road Safety Network during UN Road safety week on various platforms. The activities aimed to sensitize people on the importance of sustainable modes of transportation and also to approach policy makers to ensure that such systems are in place.
On 16th May 2023 Instagram Live was organised with collaborative efforts of Parisar ,Consumer VOICE and Citizen Consumer and Civic Action group on the theme #RethinkMobility why cycling is the way to go. Ms.Firoza Dadan, First Bicycle Mayor of India & Ms. Sarika Panda Bhatt, co-founder of Raahgiri Day were the main guests and they discussed about real challenges ,possible solutions regarding the theme.
