National Road Safety Week in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh

National Road Safety Week was celebrated from 11th to 17th Jan 2023. 

During the week successful events organised by our state partners in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh

Consumer Guild, our state partner in the state of Uttar Pradesh organised an interactive meet and rally in the outskirts of Lucknow (rural area) on 14.01.2023 as a part of road safety week activities with support from Consumer VOICE New Delhi. Local coordination was done by Kiranoday foundation Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh

Consumer Guild, our state partner in the state of Uttar Pradesh organised an interactive meet and rally in the outskirts of Lucknow (rural area) on 14.01.2023 as a part of road safety week activities with support from Consumer VOICE New Delhi. The focus of the activities was to strengthen road safety to save precious lives on roads by diligent enforcement. Also activities were organized to create awareness among people including truck drivers, tractor drivers, farmers, pedestrians, youths, students etc. regarding various road safety risk factors, important provisions of MVAA related to these important risk factors .An appeal was made by Consumer Guild team members to follow traffic rules, not to overload and overtake ,using proper indicators etc.

Regional media supported the cause and provided good coverage to the event.

Madhya Pradesh

An interactive workshop was organised by National Centre for Human Settlements and Environment NCHSE Bhopal Madhya Pradesh during road safety week at Ankur Higher Secondary School, New Market Bhopal on 17th Jan 2023.

A large number of students (150+) came forward to be part of the event and participated enthusiastically.

They were sensitized regarding various road safety related risk factors and such as, non-use of helmets, seat belts, child restraints systems, drunk driving, use of mobile phone, speeding etc. related laws. Pla cards were made and important statistics related to road fatalities were put on the same to highlight the seriousness of the issue through numbers.

The students also took pledge   to stay informed as road users & demanded strict implementation of laws. Regional media supported the cause and provided good coverage to the event.
