Digital Literacy Workshop (Training of Trainers) in Partnership with Dignity Restoration and Grievance Settlement 27 July 2017
In the series of Digital literacy Initiative Consumer VOICE Organised Digital Literacy workshop (Training of Trainers) in collaboration with Dignity Restoration and Grievance Settlement Association on 27th July 2017 at Jawaharlal Nehru National Youth Center ,New Delhi as a part of project activities supported by Consumentenbond and Consumers International.
The purpose of the project “Digital Literacy” is to make Consumers digitally literate and boost their confidence to use internet and join the digital world and economy.
The workshop covered different topics on digital literacy. The welcome address was given by Dr. Arun Kumar of Dignity Association. In the introductory message Ms. Rinki Sharma, Head- Projects & CSR, Consumer VOICE explained objectives of the workshop and importance of safety precautions in fast changing digital scenario.
Further Mr. Subhash Tewari expert from Consumer Voice highlighted the importance and need of Digital literacy in day to day work through presentation so that consumers are able to get firsthand knowledge of Digital Literacy.
Various aspects of digital literacy were covered in the interactive session of the workshop such as best practices to be used while using various digital platforms, grievance redressal mechanism, the different challenges ,consumer rights, and different platforms available for digital transactions and services.
The event was attended by more than 70 participants from different groups including consumers, students, representatives of consumer organizations. Participants showed enthusiasm towards gaining the knowledge and shared views on the use of Digital mechanism, types of prevalent practices and also shared their experiences.
The workshop was successful in achieving its objectives. Participants appreciated the efforts of Consumer VOICE in imparting a very useful education with regard to digital literacy.
